Loving and Leaving Kefalonia :-(

I'm currently sat at Icaraus cafe, overlooking Kefallinia airport. For those of you that have never visited this gem of an island, it's airport is quaint and very ummm, bijoux! The good news is that the worst part of your trip, leaving the island of course, is that the airport itself has no facilities and can only accommodate one or two flights at a time, and in the height of summer is stiffling and hot. But a short 200m walk up a small incline takes you to a couple of cafés with a sea view, one even has a pool, so you can enjoy a last minute swim if you like.

I prefer Icarus out of the two, but it's an entirely personal choice. So I'm sat here now enjoying a coffee, with a purring cat for company. It's a pleasant experience here, and even though my mood is blue as I am leaving, it's hard to feel down when you have a beautiful view of the island around you.
